composing
I have worked with sound, story, voice and music in a multitude of ways; from creating field recordings of icebergs melting in the arctic to co-creating soundscapes with groups of children; from music & sound design for numerous dramas, documentaries for film, installation and performance - to singing, vocal improv & songwriting. As an audio producer and executive producer for the BBC and international broadcasters I’ve helped to shape and share many stories in sound. Wearing both hats as composer and producer I created critically acclaimed through-composed narrative work, described as ‘composed features’, these became the subject of my PhD undertaken when I continued my explorations in academia as a researcher, lecturer & visiting fellow.
