composing
From creating field recordings of icebergs melting in the arctic to composing music & sound for numerous dramas, documentaries, film, installation and performance - I have worked with sound, story, voice and music in a multitude of ways. As an audio producer for the BBC and international broadcasters, I’ve helped to shape and share many stories in sound. Wearing both hats as a composer and producer, I created critically acclaimed through-composed narrative work, described as ‘composed features’. These became the subject of my PhD undertaken when I continued my explorations in academia as a researcher, lecturer & visiting fellow. My current focus is voice, improvisation and embodied approaches to composition.
